Yes. Hutchins Integrative Health can order a wide range of diagnostic testing directly as part of your care.

This includes traditional bloodwork as well as specialized testing such as DUTCH hormone testing, comprehensive gastrointestinal testing, advanced allergy and immune testing, environmental and toxin testing, and other specialized laboratory evaluations when appropriate.

We determine which testing is most useful based on your history, symptoms, goals and existing results rather than simply ordering large panels without a clear clinical reason.

If testing is needed before your evaluation, Dr. Hutchins can review your intake and any recent laboratory results after you book and arrange the appropriate testing in advance. You'll receive instructions regarding preparation, timing and where to complete your testing.

For most routine bloodwork, we typically use GMA (Glenwood Medical Associates), located next to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.

Once your laboratory orders are ready, we'll provide the information you need to have your blood drawn. If your testing requires a different laboratory or special collection instructions, we'll let you know.

When Hutchins Integrative Health orders laboratory testing for you, the laboratory cost is paid through our office at the time the order is placed, so you'll know the cost of your testing before you have your blood drawn. We work to keep laboratory testing affordable, with comprehensive blood panels typically ranging from approximately $150–$350 depending on the testing appropriate for you.

Each laboratory order also includes a $50 Lab Management Fee. This covers the administrative work involved in preparing and managing your order, processing it through the appropriate laboratory system, receiving the results and organizing them in your clinical record. Clinical interpretation of your results is not included in this fee.

If you are scheduled for a Comprehensive Laboratory Evaluation, the $280 visit fee includes Dr. Hutchins' clinical evaluation, comprehensive interpretation of your results, a personalized Clinical Lab Report, and recommendations. Laboratory testing and the $50 Lab Management Fee are separate from the evaluation fee.

When limited laboratory testing is ordered as part of ongoing care, results may instead be reviewed during your regular follow-up visit.

Yes. If you already have recent bloodwork or specialized testing, please send it before your appointment whenever possible.

We can review those results in the context of your symptoms, history and goals, identify important patterns and determine whether any additional testing would meaningfully add to what we already know.

You do not necessarily need to repeat testing simply because it was ordered elsewhere. If your existing results provide the information we need and no additional testing is necessary, your evaluation may be scheduled sooner.

Yes. We offer Hormone Evaluation & Care for women seeking to better understand hormonal symptoms, perimenopause, menopause, current hormone therapy or their overall hormone health.

Evaluation may include traditional bloodwork and specialized testing such as DUTCH when appropriate. Recommendations are individualized and may include nutritional, lifestyle and natural strategies to support hormonal health, as well as additional evaluation when needed.

If bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) may be appropriate, we can provide referral to a prescribing provider. For women already using hormone replacement therapy, our evaluation and testing can also provide useful information to help guide treatment decisions in collaboration with their prescriber.

Yes. DUTCH testing can provide detailed information about sex hormones, hormone metabolites, cortisol patterns and other aspects of hormone physiology that aren't available from standard blood testing alone.

It isn't necessary for everyone. We use it when the additional information is likely to help answer a specific clinical question or guide care.

Yes. Depending on the clinical question, we can order specialized testing for gastrointestinal function and the microbiome, food sensitivities and immune responses, environmental exposures and toxins, and other areas of concern.

Testing is selected based on what we're trying to understand rather than using the same panel for every client.

When imaging or another diagnostic study would provide useful information, we can help determine the appropriate next step and refer for additional evaluation or imaging when indicated.

This may include musculoskeletal imaging or studies such as coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring for cardiovascular risk assessment. We can also help interpret those findings in the context of your broader health picture.
