FOCUSED STRUCTURAL CARE

Focused care for the problem that brought you here.

If you’re dealing with a specific injury, area of pain or musculoskeletal problem, you may not need to begin with a comprehensive health evaluation. Focused Structural Care allows us to concentrate on the problem that matters most to you while still looking beyond the painful area to understand what may be contributing to it.

Initial Focused Structural Care Visit · 40 Minutes

LOOK BEYOND THE PAINFUL AREA

Find what is driving the problem.

Pain tells us where something is being experienced, but it doesn't always tell us why it's happening.

A shoulder problem may involve the neck, ribs, muscle function or mechanics elsewhere in the body. Hip or knee symptoms may be influenced by the pelvis, spine, feet or patterns left behind by an old injury. Recurring back or neck pain may persist because the area being treated is only one part of the problem.

Your examination is designed to identify the structural, muscular and neurological findings that appear most relevant to your problem.

Depending on what we find, we may assess joint mechanics, muscle function, movement patterns, spinal and pelvic relationships, extremities, cranial mechanics and the effects of previous injuries.

The goal is not simply to treat where it hurts. It is to identify and address the factors that are keeping the problem going.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Focused assessment. Direct treatment.

Your initial Focused Structural Care visit is 40 minutes.

We begin with a focused history of the problem, how it started, what aggravates it, prior injuries or treatment, and what you want to be able to do again.

Your examination is then tailored to that concern, and treatment begins during the same visit.

We’ll reassess the important findings as care progresses and adjust treatment based on your response rather than repeating the same approach automatically.

Focused care means defining the problem clearly, addressing what appears to be contributing to it, and helping you move forward as efficiently as possible.
